No sun?!…no problem…

There’s something special about shooting intimate weddings but to shoot them in the fab city of Palm Springs makes it even sweeter.  Needless to say, when DeeDee+Demian called us about shooting their wedding, we couldn’t be more excited.

Yea we braved 110+ degree heat but in the end, it’s always worth it.  Like most all of our couples, DeeDee + Demian were calm, cool, collect and were amazing to work with! Congrats you two!

Most of the time when we go on our shoots with our clients we ask them to bring “accessories”.  You know…like hats, sunglasses, scarfs, blankets, jackets…you get my drift.  Well for our newest clients/friends, Xera + Jerome that “accessory” was his car =)

The “bravest man of the year” award definitely goes to Jerome as he trekked all the way out to our location in 100+ Degree weather with NO A/C!!!  Lauren and I couldn’t believe it but regardless, we are SO GLAD he did because it played perfectly in how we envisioned the shoot to go.  Things really turned out perfectly and best of all, because of the effort they both made in making their shoot a success and all the fun we all had, their shoot is something they’ll always remember years into their marriage.

To Xera+Jerome…thanks for trusting us with our vision for your shoot and going for it!  We had a blast and love how all your images turned out. =) We’ll see you in November!!!

One thing we love about shooting weddings are the little  ”side stories” that happen throughout the day.  These ”Side Stories” are little moments during the wedding day that many times to the everyday bride, groom and family go unnoticed or are simply never ones that are thought to be captured or photographed or even set up….they just happen.  And for us, it’s our job as photographers to make sure we get as much of it as possible =)

For Kara + Kevin, these “side stories” were plentiful.  There were many emotional moments like when the Kevin’s mother unexpectedly entered the room and put on her son’s boutonniere and when Kevin finally got to read Kara’s journal for the first time where everyday she wrote reasons why she was thankful for him.  There were also fun and priceless moments like capturing the Father of the Bride carrying every women’s accessory possible simply because that’s just what dad’s do!

Yes, amazing portraits are all part of the plan but it’s the also the parts that are not planned…the ”behind the scene” stories if you may,  that complete each wedding.

To Kara + Kevin – we’re so happy we got to meet you two and experience your day with you.  You both were absolutely fantastic and we loved sharing it with you and your families.  Where ever God leads you two, we hope these images always help you revisit your amazing wedding.  With Love, John + Lauren

Before anything, check out Sheryn + Tim’s Wedding day concept film HERE by Loyd Calomay.

This is one of those posts that even though there are about 50+ images in it, it’s only a fraction of what we could’ve shared from their big day…that’s how awesome Sheryn + Tim’s wedding was. Nestled in the hills of south Orange County, Rancho Las Lomas was the perfect venue for these two.  In a story that started 8 years after they first met, their wedding day was full of timeless moments that we were blessed to capture.

To Sheryn + Tim – you two were phenomenal and looked amazing!!  We had such a blast capturing your day…from the beautiful venue to the details and even hanging with your bridal party, we’re honored to have been part of it.  Now its time for your Trash the Dress shoot!  We can’t wait! =)  See you soon!

It’s been a busy summer to say the least (hence the lack of blog posts). But we thought we’d share an image from a wedding we just shot a week or so ago. Can’t wait to share the rest!

Many of their friends would tell you that they never knew when exactly Kay+Virgil fell in love or really how it began but one thing is for sure, much like how Lauren and I first fell in love, it started in it’s simplest form – a friendship.  Fast forward to February 17, 2012…a day in February that couldn’t have been any nicer and more perfect for Kay + Virgil.  The sun was out, the skies were clear and the downtown LA skyline was perfectly visible from any direction.  Add all that to a pimped out venue featuring Tolkien themed accents and you have the makings of something special.

To Kay + Virgil – thank you for letting us be part of your special day.  we’re honored, humbled and thankful to have seen you two commit yourselves before God and each other.  Love each other selflessly and if you two need anything at all…you know we’re here for you.  We love you guys!  Enjoy your wedding images…we hope you love how they turned out as much as we loved capturing every moment.  We’ll see you two soon!  ~JP+Owen

Meet Denise + Mike.

They’re meant to be and on Saturday it became official.

These are some of their photos.

Enjoy =)

I doubt there was a cuter, more awesome couple getting married on this weekend than Melody+Julian.  They rocked out their engagement session so we knew going into it that their wedding day wouldn’t be any different.  Well, they didn’t disappoint and we loved every minute with them.

Melody+Julian…we couldn’t have been more blessed to be part of your bid day.  Both your families are awesome and you both looked amazing!  Maybe next time we see you guys it will be in New York ;)  Be safe out there and stay away from the Crack Pie they’re dangerous! ;)

I wanted to give Carmela+Raymund a handful of their wedding day images before the year end as a little gift to say how much we appreciate them and their family.  They showed us so much love that I thought we crashed a family reunion!!

Needless to say, with a kickbutt crew consisting of Loyd Calomay and DJ Neil Armstrong, Carmela+Raymund rocked Cancun like none other!

I’ll keep it short and let the *few* images speak for themselves…

To Carmela+Raymund…we love you guys…we’ll talk soon!  Happy New Year you love birds ;) ~John + Lauren
