That's right VIDEO! =)  Loyd (Red 5 Studios)asked me if I'd like to help him shoot a wedding in Vegas and of course w/o hesitation I accepted =)  The only catch was instead of shooting photos, I'd be shooting video with our new 5d Mark II's which as you know capture both stills as well as 1080p quality videos. We definitely had a good time this past weekend (work and play) and with that I wanted to also share some of this weekends "firsts" (let us know if you can relate!)... first...time we've got to shoot video for a wedding... first...time we stayed at Lake Las Vegas (this place rocked!) first...time Haydn sat in her car seat for longer than 2 hours! (can't tell you how worried we were about this one!!) first...time Haydn wore her first bathing suit, which btw, Lauren bought even before she was born =))...which also means it was the first...time Haydn got in the kiddie pool =) and last but not least... first...time I drank a Red Bull and actually enjoyed it.  Of course, just my luck...this was before I hear Red Bull has traces of cocaine in it. Go Figure... Now for the video...for those of you NBA fans, you'll definitely enjoy this one =)  Thanks again Loyd!  We had a blast and can't wait to help you shoot the next one! =) Congratulations Bern+John!! =)

Just got back from Vegas this past weekend to help shoot a wedding with our friends at Red 5 Studios and we had a blast!  If you didn't know, Red 5 Studios does AMAZING cinematography work...yup VIDEO!  So yeah, you heard that right, we helped shoot video =)   I'm also trying to get the video posted up on our site for you everyone to check out but more on that tomorrow. There's a ton going on with us right now in terms of our brand and we can't wait to share it all with you.  There's also a wedding and an Engagement Session too!  But with that, I wanted to leave you with a little teaser from the Engagement Session I was just talking about. For those of you checking us out on Facebook...i wrote about this session about two saturdays ago using the word "eyegasm" =) haha This shot though has to be credited to where a lot of our inspiration comes from and those are the folks from the image is found.  You can also see them on our blogroll to the right.

When Lauren and I decided to shoot weddings we knew we'd be working long hours on weekends which of course, can be a daunting task for anyone starting out...but when we meet a couple like Karen+Joe, those thoughts always seem to go away. Remember this engagement shoot?? Karen+Joe don't know this but last year, after the first time we met about their wedding,  as Lauren and I got into our car, we were extra giddy because we knew, right from start, there was chemistry!  And in photography, especially for Weddings, chemistry is HUUGEE!!  We knew that not only were we going to shoot a super fun couple but even cooler, we thought we had just made some really cool friends =) It was really really really hard to pick some of our favorites because we loved all of them but here they are starting with the details... The first thing we saw when we walked in to Karen's room, well besides Karen's glowing face was this amazing beam of light that shined through the small window.  This and the pic at the top was two of the by products of that cool light =)

 We wanted to take advantage of the awesome light during the afternoon sunset so during the reception, we snuck out for more picture taking =)

We LOVE this shot.  This seriously was a close 2nd to our favorite photo of the day. BUT! this took cake!   Don't they just look so comfortable together??!!  If we LOVED the last photo, we LOOOVE this one...like a lot. =)

Last week was a bit of a bummer for me because I was sick pretty much the whole week and being sick = time away from my two favorite girls in the world.  Thankfully, as the weekend rolled around so did my sickly feelings...kind of =) This past weekend also marked an important time for us because we finally took the plunge and upgraded to the new Canon 5d Mark II camera bodies.  We can't tell you how excited we are! Not only is the camera full frame, it shoots 1080p video too!  How awesome is that?!  What better tool to carry around when out with the family than this?!  Here's what it looks like...yeah, nothing fancy... Naturally we HAVE to test the camera so the next day we saw a cool little spot right by church and with a little help from a small model ;) we snapped some quick ones =)  Our little Haydn is getting so big!

Here's Lauren showing Haydn some flowers... and of course, like any baby, she reached down and tried to eat them... This one we got a kick out of...hahahah we seriously couldn't stop laughing as she stood next to this tree!  Are we mean or what?! haha Last but not least...her famous gold sandals!!  You can thank Lauren for that one!
