That takes us to our first concept shoot with my new friend Sam =) If you've never heard of a concept shoot or a test shoot, its when we come up with everything for the shoot...from what the theme of the shoot will be, the kind of styling we want, the person doing the hair+makeup, the guy(s) or girl(s) that'll be modeling for us and lastly location. Then after all that is figured out, we (the photographers) try to execute it. Of course on a bigger scale (say for a client like J.Crew or GAP) this gets more complicated but i guess this is what you can call "practice" =) For more details from a pro, click here.

Victoria and Brian are a super active couple that love to do everything outdoors...in other words they do everything Lauren and I think about doing except we revert to dining at our favorite local restaurant instead =) Needless to say, we definitely wanted to capture their fun loving/active nature in they're Engagement photos but while also mixing it up with a few "drop it like it's hot off the press" magazine style shots!
Victoria+Brian...I was THIS close to posting your crazy 5 foot jump/dive on Brian shot but I restrained myself =) haha Seriously, we definitely LOVED how these turned out and we hope we captured you two the way you both envisioned. You guys were super fun and we can't wait for your wedding! =)
John and "O".....This was such an amazing time with you! Not only did these turn out FANTASTIC, but you gave Brian and I a great bonding experience. These are more than what I expected. You guys are THE BEST!!! Can't wait to see you guys at the wedding and future "family" albums. :) We cannot thank you two enough!

The month of June, for the rest of my life, will always be a pretty cool month for me...well with December following a really really close second. Its because of mainly two things, maaaybee three...Our Anniversary, Father's day and my birthday (a distant third).
Anyway, Saturday I got an early gift. Driving home, the sky was amazing, light was perfect and we happened to stumble upon this amazing spot so what do we do?! We race home, grab our equipment and shoot =) So random but that made it all the better.
So with that said, fast forward to Sunday. While at service I got a chance to pray and I started looking back, thinking about my beautiful two girls in my life, and how He's allowed Lauren and I to share a love for photography together and I couldn't help but thank God for His goodness and cry tears of joy. It was an awesome time of reflection. I mean seriously...if you told me 5 years ago if I'd marry my best friend, start a photography business that we both love, have a beautiful baby girl and be able to use my wife as a model?! I would've probably thought you were crazy. Well, lo and hold, that's exactly where I am today.
I love you Lauren (or Owen) and thank you for making June one of the best months of the entire year.
