Fast forward to today July 27th 2010...I'm writing the blog post I never thought I'd write...one that includes my baby sister finally getting engaged.

Looking back at when we started, so much has already changed....from our company name, to our logo, to our website and more especially, our photography. And I'll venture to say that things will continue to change but always for the better (we hope at least right?!=)) But one thing that remains constant in our photography journey is our desire to never stay stagnant...to always push the limits of what we can accomplish and always seek to improve. In other words, ironically speaking, the one thing that remains constant is change.

Needless to say, whoever's out there, thanks for looking and welcome to our journey of photography...there's so much more to come =)

Back story: When I first moved here from New York back in the early 90's (that would put me back in...oooh just before high school), believe it or not, Maybelle was one of the first people that I met. So yeah, you can say that we've known each other for a while =)

That being said...for her to ask us to shoot her wedding, well, needless to say I was honored.

So Maybelle and Edward, we hope you truly enjoy your engagement pictures because we loved shooting every minute of it...~~(yes even the part where I got attacked by bees!!....the 30 minute hike...the possible rattlesnake bite and cougar attack!! haha)~~. Sometimes it just works out to where we don't get to actually meet/see our lovely couples together until the day of their engagement session. But even more rarely do we talk to and even met the mothers of couple! Well, believe it or not, that was the case with Erin+Calvin =)

Did we worry?! NOT AT ALL!! They were awesome so we knew Erin+Calvin wouldn't be any different =) For our shoot, they definitely brought a sense of sophistication with they're awesome sense of style ~~(...Calvin, if you're reading this, i'm still waiting for my email about those shirts!! haha)~~ but it wasn't long for their fun personalities to come out and loosen up for our cameras =)

Erin+Calvin...you guys were great and looked fabulous! We hope you enjoy your engagement pictures and we can't wait to see the fireworks go off on your big day!

Victoria and Brian are a super active couple that love to do everything outdoors...in other words they do everything Lauren and I think about doing except we revert to dining at our favorite local restaurant instead =) Needless to say, we definitely wanted to capture their fun loving/active nature in they're Engagement photos but while also mixing it up with a few "drop it like it's hot off the press" magazine style shots!

Victoria+Brian...I was THIS close to posting your crazy 5 foot jump/dive on Brian shot but I restrained myself =) haha Seriously, we definitely LOVED how these turned out and we hope we captured you two the way you both envisioned. You guys were super fun and we can't wait for your wedding! =)

After we shot Sheila and Jerry's esesh over at The Den a few months back, we knew we'd be in for a treat come wedding day. We usually would post the slideshow along with the premiere of their photos but that'll be Part 2 ;)

Let us just say, and I know we said this already before but, SHEILA, YOU LOOKED AMAZING IN YOUR DRESS!

Being the smart parents we are, we didn't bring cash so with what we scrounged up in our pockets we came up with a total of $8...just enough for some funnel cake and much needed H20...

Finally before we called it a day, we went to go see the cool hot air balloon. Was it awseome looking? Yes. Did we want to wait in a long line for it? No But was Haydn amazed? Yes she was...

Oh and just in case you were wondering why Haydn wasn't smiling in, oh umm, all the pictures...haha..it's because she just woke up....another smart move by us. =) Don't worry, we'll get it right eventually!

Real quick story about the day...
When we first met these two one of the things we talked about was shooting in Costco. Why? Well, it's a long standing tradition that during any of their friends weddings, they would all make their way to Costco and have a pizza! How cool is that?! Of course, once they said that, our minds went off the creative end and thought of ways to take that even further! =) Long story short, on their wedding day, not only did we they have a pizza, but with the OK from Assistant Warehouse Manager (thanks Glen!) we had basically free reign to shoot anywhere we wanted!! =) Oh yeah, and as you can tell from the group Costco pic below, the management team loved every minute of it!!!

After some intense research, we found the perfect beach in Laguna Beach and it couldn't have worked out any better....timing, lighting, location, scenery...all of it was perfect! We started at the parking garage and eventually as the sun was setting, we made our way down to the sand.

Apertura with an AMAZING wedding at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena Saturday, we headed off to Palm Springs for the first time in a looong time! Needless to say, we came away loving the small little town and it's Mid Century Mod styling throughout.

I decided to go on a visual hunt to capture the palm trees that liter the streets of small town as well as more random stuff that caught my eye...so with the beautiful blue skies...it happened to be one fun little project =)

Oh and, I had to throw in some pics of Haydn of course! =) Happy Monday everyone!
