A Chinese Tea Ceremony, a traditional White Dress in a Church ceremony and a 400 person Wedding Reception...ALL in one day!  Talk about an action packed Saturday! =) Oh and dd I mention a trip to Universal Studios?!?!....yeah that was part of our weekend too =) So in trying not to give away too much of the days events, as usual, here's a sneak peak of our last wedding this past weekend!

Last week we got to hang with Linda+Dennis at the Griffith Park Observatory for their portrait/engagement session...a place that's been frequented by us about as many times as we've climbed Everest, so you can imagine how stoked we were to finally make our way up the hill and peep out the view.  It was definitely hot that day and we ran into a crowded Observatory but we still a blast.  We started the day with a few casual shots... and ended the day rockin something a little more formal... One of the things that we love about Linda+Dennis is that they both come from different cultures...if you couldn't tell by shot above, Linda's Chinese (rockin' the red!) and Dennis is Filipino (rockin' what we call a Barong Tagalog - it's the Filipino version of a formal American suit made of super light weight fabric).  To honor both traditions, Linda+Dennis are going to have this awesome whole day event of a wedding that starts with an all decked out traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony followed by a traditional American ceremony at a near by church.  Is that sick or what?!  It's going to be a sweet day of awesome picture galore that we can't wait to shoot! Here's another one of my favorites that Lauren captured for two reasons...remember the Barong Tagalog?  I love how you can see just how super thinly woven the Barong actually was with all the sunlight in behind him.  Second reason...don't you love how the Linda's ring almost pops out of the picture =)  If you couldn't tell, we love natural light and every time we shoot, we try to use the sun as much as we can!! =) As for the slideshow, it's just about done so don't forget to check back in tomorrow when it goes up!  Think of these shots as a little appetizer! =) Linda+Dennis - you guys rock and we can't wait for your big day!

What a weekend!

Normally we would wait till we have the slideshow and pretty much every picture edited...but...we couldn't wait to at least show you a few shots! We had so much fun shooting this wedding. We made our way to Borrego Springs, Ca... just about 2 hours away from where we live. If you haven't heard of Borrego Springs, it's okay, it was our first time also, but it is North County San Diego, but in the desert.

The main color of the wedding was yellow and she had all her bridesmaids pick their own dresses. She didn't even take a look at them till the day of the wedding! But she loved every single one of them.

Darcy is so amazing because she was able to wear the same wedding dress her mom wore when she married her dad, the same bouquet, and the same head dress! The next amazing part is she wore the same earrings her mother and grandmother wore on their wedding days. Every detail of her outfit reflected something of the past and she just looked so amazing. Although you can't really see the details in this shot, we thought this was a fun image to share with you. My husband has some eye for these abstract type of shots...I love it! =)

K... back to Borrego Spring, right smack dab in the middle of the desert! But was so beautiful. So, there is something called Twilight when the skies just lites up the canvas. John caught the moment, and probably the only time of the reception when no one was out of their seat. I love this shot! Really quick on a side note, Rachel from Plan It San Diego was awesome in working with us and filling us in on everything. If you're in San Diego and planning a wedding, be sure to give her a call. Back to the wedding...again, I love the detail! Everything was so well planned and thought out! I love shooting weddings and can't wait to show you the rest.
